I think I figured out a way. I've been covering the pill with her food, then I let her lick the food out of my hand and I gently clamp down her mouth until she swallows it. So far it has worked. She swallows it with no problem and it prevents her from spitting it back out again.

She will be taking these pills probably for the rest of her life so I have to find a method that will work. Its for her liver shunts. Since surgery is not a option at least right now, (she's almost 13), the vet put her on lactulose, metronindacyl (sp?) and prescription hill L/D and of course periodic bile acid test. The biggest improvement I've see is no more recurring urinary tract infections.

I'm am keeping my fingers crossed that she lives a long life as I know liver shunts can go either way.
