My mom has not had a great December. Please send good thoughts her way.
First on Dec 25th, one of their dogs died. She was a (we think as she was a stray) that she was 10 years old and a labradoodle. She had cancer. Though my parents had 9 dogs (!) this was one of their favs.
Second: my mom suffered a mini stroke on friday. she is ok but it was scary.
Then, 2 days before the mini stroke her and dad's #1 dog a lhasa apso named Jackson apparently got his leg caught in a vent and before they saw what was happening he pulled so hard he pulled off the vent cover.
That night, he could not hold up his back end. He would crawl across the floor when he did move.
Dad and my dh took him to the er vet that night. They gave 3 options, do nothing and wait, spend 1000 on mri then up to 5000 for surgery which might not work or take meds. They chose 3rd option. No broken bones so they thought spinal injury.
So today they took him to their vet, and she recommended putting to sleep. So RIP Jackson.
Here's hoping next year will be better for all of us.
