For Rily, I cut the oneies straight all the way around. Then I cut up the side seams a couple of inches. I fold the under flap up/inside and tack to the side seams. This makes the underbelly shorter than the back. I then hem the side seams and around the back. If the shirt hangs long, then you just need to take a seam down the underside of the shirt like Michelle said.
