Has anyone ever made a homemade doggie conditioner?

Indigo is ready for her first bath: the shelter fixed her and I couldn't bathe her until now. Of course she stinks to high heaven since she was caught as a stray and then was a concrete and wire cage for over a week! The smell got so bad that I trimmed her some, and sponge-bathed her with a weak vinegar rinse, which helped quite a bit.

I have some oatmeal dog shampoo, and I will probably do a vinegar rinse after, but she obviously needs some type of conditioner, which I don't have on hand yet.

I'm curious if anyone has made homemade conditioner? I've made human deep conditioner using vegetable glycerin, jojoba oil, olive oil, and raw aloe vera pulp (sometimes with a drop of tea tree oil) mixed with water, and I have all the ingredients on hand. Could it hurt to try? Her hair is not very long right now, maybe 1.5 inches.
