I'm not sure...I got SICK of Luma's puppy coat and got her shaved down last summer! Her hair grew back in so silky and lovely. It's still changing though. I think it can still change texture and color up to 2 yrs old. I had Luma shaved at I think 5 months and she is 5 days shy of 1yr old.
