I agree Best Bully is the best place to buy them. If your dog can bite pieces off and eat them then they are too soft. At Best Bully you can get various thicknesses and lengths and they are hard not soft and gooey.
Gracie is a dinky little girl but I get her the regular thickness at the 12" length. One will last her at least two weeks now that she is past the worst of her chewing stage. When she gets all wound up about something she will grab a stick and start chewing to kind of let off some of her stress.
I really don't care what part of the animal it is. They are good for my dog and they have helped her a lot. The animal is dead anyway. This is just another part of the body. They are fat free muscle for heaven's sake!
