I had to have Clyde on pain killers once. I was really nervous at first ... but after the pain killers took affect he just seemed really... happy. He was a lot more relaxed & just had a goofiness about him afterward. I also once had to give a foster puppy pain killers. The foster puppy ... when the puppy was on pain killers he would act really goofy and playful (since he wasn't in pain anymore). Generally all the pain killers that I have used have had my pets act goofy, but nothing to worry about. Obviously the affect wouldn't be the same for every dog... also morphine is a much stronger drug and probably would really sedate her ... but if it would relieve her from the discomfort she is probably feeling I would go ahead and maybe give it a try with an extremely small dose or something.
Has she been on morphine before? |
