Sounds like you have mine's twin... Crate equaled porta-potty and would not eat treats... After reading more about the breed I went out got an xpen to keep him in and placed the crate inside it and also a pad, he still peed inside the crate and went #2 on the pad.
He is potty trained now but still till this day if it is pouring outside or I am not at home he will go pee inside his crate, he never sleeps or lays in it.
