The only thing I can think of is feed them separately. I had the opposite problem..my puppy wants to eat her older brother's dog food. With them, I can just pick his up off the floor - he's big and can reach it and she can't.
As for it puppy food will hurt the adult dog, I would ask my vet. I don't think it will except may make them tend to gain more weight..?
