We just found out our 2 year shi tzu has juvinile cataracts and is going to need surgery. We have an appointment on Friday with a specialist. The sad part is we never realized that Oliver is blind in one eye and we feel really guilty. I had a feeling it was a cataract but I figured he is only 2 years old. We had no idea that a dog this young can have cataracts. My vet says that with surgery he will be able to see perfectly again. We feel so bad for him because he is such a great little dog and never gives us any kind of problems. The vet also said that she sees signs in the other eye also but so far his vision is okay in that eye. Thank God I have the funds to pay for this. I know so many people don't.
