Well, nothing *horrible horrible*. After reading some things on different forums ... it took a long time for me to actually believe them, but I've read too many iffy reports about them lately. It's hard to know what's true and what's not though. They were also sort of bought out recently (not like P&G boughtout) but failed to mention it, but their under new ownership and a new CEO who had no experience in dog food. The company was sold to Bedford Capital in 2011. Frank Burdzy was put in by the new owner as the CEO. Prior to that he sold propane gas and fertilzer. There was never an announcement by the company. However, all stores WERE informed of the change. I spoke to a few people who work at dog food stores and they say they were told of the changes, but most customers could care less, so never felt it warranted a big announcement. Supposedly nothing is changing in terms of production. Champion is also well known for good customer service, and always being quick to respond to concerns, etc. But they have a lot of claims about their food that I find to be bogus and their very tricky with a lot of wording and ingredients. I don't know, I'm still not sure how I feel about them totally, because I used to LOVE them, and Jax has always done well on their foods for the most part, but I stopped feeding it because of the price increase/bag decrease and new ingredients. Wasn't happy with all the peas, beans, lentils, etc. I question how much meat is actually in there. I also have yet to hear of who exactly formulates their food and what credentials they have etc. But we ARE using the food at the moment (sample bag) because for now, it's taken away the eye boogers he was getting on Fromm, and it's what he does best on. We're feeding the Singles though which did not change as far as I know. I still wouldn't choose to feed Purina if I didn't have to. But I dunno, I'm still kind of all over the place. I see both 'sides'. And it took me a long time to open my eyes to these facts.

Bottom line is, I don't trust many of them, but what can you do? I think you just have to go with your gut, and what your dog does best on, and what you feel comfortable with. I have probably read way too much about dog food! LOL. Dog food nerd alert!
