And, I would definitely keep the collar with tags on at all times. A few months ago, a YT member lost her dog when he was let out by a hotel staff member. The dog was in the bathroom. Almost exactly THREE WEEKS later, her dog was found and she was notified...they knew he was hers because he had his collar with ID tags on.
Good thing she had his collar on him even when he was in the hotel room and not just out and about. That taught me a big lesson for sure!
