By flexi leash, do you mean a retractable leash? If so, I don't really care for those. I feel safer with a regular leash that has no give and that I can wrap the end around my wrist and hold the leash with my hand. I'm sure I'm way too protective, but I like the strength and reliability of a regular nylon or leather leash..just in case something happens and I have to pull Mandie up quickly. I know it won't break or give.

To train on any leash, though..just do little sessions inside with it and use little training treats to entice your pup to move towards you. Teach "come" or "heel" and entice with a treat to walk to you. Little sessions over several days inside will help when outside.
