  Yorkies just aren't built for cold weather. They're single coated which means less insulation. With a little help, they can withstand Alaskan winters. Look up Alaskayorkie (he's a member here) and you'll find pictures and videos of Eddie (I 

 him!) and Jillie who run around in the snow comfortably with the aid of some simple booties and a nice warm jacket. The other clothes is for fun. 

 my boy wears sweaters and pajamas when it's cold. Especially since I keep his soft coat in a very short puppy cut. The sweaters help keep him warm.
