I agree that if her ears are red inside they are probably very painful. It would be nice to know what your vet decided to treat her with. Some of the insecticides they use for ear mites can really hurt an irritated ear. They have some brands that have aloe in them so they are less painful to use. Really the irritation should be resolved before putting an insecticide in the ear.
Try wrapping her up in a blanket so you have more control over her and hopefully she cannot bite. Maybe consider asking the vet about it if it is that painful for her. When you wrap in a blanket you want just the head sticking out and a snug enough wrap that the legs can't get out if she struggles. I hate to do that to a dog in that much pain but I don't want anyone to get hurt. Please consider having your mom talk to the vet about it.
