Think it's just a UTI? I mean I think you can have crystals from just a bladder infection - I think I had crystals in urine once with that. I had to have that painful bladder "treatment" where they put medicine in it because it was a bad one but that's probably all he has. That's bad enough but prob. vet just wants to be sure nothing else going on and probably isn't. Does he not drink much water? I think that can cause them, too.
