  I struggle with gauging good water temperatures because I like my own showers way too hot.  
 I have learned to use cooler water on the dogs and I test it on my wrist or inner elbow. If your baby's skin is red or deep pink after a bath, chances are the water was too hot.
 
 I think it is more important that the room is warm.  The water temperature used for a human baby sounds right.
