I do understand there are unforseen things that may happen in someone's life during the time period for fixing a dog...serious health problem with self or immediate family member, or death of a family member. For a small percentage of dogs the surgery might be judged to be too risky for the dog. So occassionally there are valid medical reasons.
If you don't spay/neuter of course that is your decision. What I don't get are the folks that then, do NOT educate themselves about how to avoid "accidental" breedings, do NOT educate themselves on what to expect when a female goes into heat etc.
And yes even breeders can make mistakes and have accidental breedings. One of my friends has just had a litter from such a breeding. And it is a pain. All the litter should be DNA'd as well as her breeding males. It is possible that more than one male impregnated her. Hopefully they will turn out to be purebred puppies. The breeding wasn't witnessed as it was in Carmen's case.
