We are back from the vet...got home about an hour ago....Karina is doing wonderfully, and we have a 4.6 oz happy, healthy, active little girl! Karina, being the super momma she is, is still groggy from the section, but she is coddling, loving, and cleaning her little girl with all the tenderness and love she always has for her babies....I just adore this little lady! My vet made very small incisions, both entry and in the uterus and has assured me there will be no problems with future breedings....she should be able to carry and whelp without difficulty.....of course, I wont be breeding her for a year, giving that uterus time to heal completely. And when I have a litter due, my vet and her staff are on standby for me...I would like to be able to get a female from Karina that I can keep as a breeder, to take Karinas place when she retires. I dont want to lose her wonderful lineage. So we are settling in, I am going to get Karina some of the pudding we give our new moms, and some Pedialyte to drink.......and I am going to lay by her whelping crate at the side of my bed, and take a nap!! I am exhausted! Thank you everyone, for keeping Karina and myself in your prayers and thoughts....we have a beautiful little baby girl, going to a wonderful home, to absolutely thrilled parents, in the middle of April! |
