Years ago, before everybody knew chocolate was such a disaster for dogs, I used to use......wait for it!!!.....milk chocolate chips as treats and for hypoglycemia prevention on a little boy I had! Now, they didnt get a 1/2 cup of chips...maybe 4-5 little chips, maybe twice a week....but I never had a sick pup and those babies all lived to 14 to almost 17 years of age. I am certainly NOT encouraging doing this, especially now that we know the harm it could cause. But I dont think you have killed your baby with a TINY, small piece of chocolate cake she may have gotten! At 5+ pounds, with a piece that amounts to a smidge, I wouldnt be worried if it were me!
