What you are doing sounds pretty good to me! =) You are making him comfortable with his kennel and with being in it. You don't need to give a treat every time you remove him from him kennel, but do continue to praise him for his good behavior in it every time. As for the cover, I only put the cover down when I want Blazer to sleep- such as at night. During the day, for quick rests in his kennel if I need to run out for a short time I don't put it down. I'm so glad that this is working out for you now! =)
