He just needs more "practice." Try putting him in it during the day for a short while at a time (start with maybe 15 minutes and gradually go longer.) He'll fuss but ignore him until he is quiet, then go get him out and praise him and give him a small treat. Try to use the same word every time he goes in his crate- we use "kennel." Eventually you should be able to just say "kennel" and he'll go in by himself. Also, I cover Blazer's kennel with a blanket so that he knows it's sleep time. The darker space seems to calm him faster. Keep trying, it'll all work out!
