That is really strange. I use a yahoo account for my YT account, too. Hopefully you will be able to resolve the issue!
Sounds like her computer might be blocking the website (like someone above suggested) or that maybe you should let your friend try to register at your house ... all the ideas that Verbena suggested! I thought those are good ideas.
