My Chihuahua, Twinkie is almost 11. He will be getting a dental on Tuesday. I did not realize how bad his teeth were. He is very snappy and you can not begin to open and look in his mouth, you will get bit. One tooth I KNOW is really bad. And I think there is some infection. He is on antibiotics now before the surgery.
My vets have been in practice since 1979. They are NOT vets with fancy offices. They KNOW how to do what they do and you don't overpay to pay for their fancy office and equipment. I trust them completely.
I suspect his teeth are hurting him and the only option is surgery, as much as I hate to do it to an old dog. I will be praying that he comes through it OK.
If it has to be done, it has to be done. We really don't have a choice. I KNOW everyone here will be praying for our babies.
