I personally don't think most dog breeds should be croos-breed. However there are times when it benifits to cross-breed, like with labradoodles and goldendoodles they are good because they are large dogs that don't shed, many people don't like small dogs , but don't like the large amount of shedding a large dog does, for allergy purposes there are reasons to by a cross-breed. Yes a yorkipoo and other small dogs mixed with yorkies make for a more rubust dog, but they can aso bring on new health challenges, and behavioral challenges that you might not get with a full breed yorkie. I would make sure before purchasing a mix breed, that you have it checked by a vet and have full gentic testing to test for problems. I would also make sure to spend some time with the parents and see what they look like, there size, there personalities. I personally would not pay more then 100.00 for a mix-breed and that would have to include all puppy shots. But its all about personal prefrence. |
