Default Took Roxie to the vet today.

Roxie threw up the other morning as she occasionally does but acted fine. Then this morning she seemed lethargic and didn't want her treats. Very unusual. I thought maybe she had a tummy upset and thought I'd wait and see before calling her vet. About an hour later she was whimpering a little when I picked her up and Pixie wouldn't leave her side. She was almost guarding her. So I called the vet and they said they would squeeze me in at 5:30. Later in the afternoon she ate some food and I almost cancelled her appointment. I took her in and I got a new vet I had never seen as we were squeezed in. She checked Roxie out and said her tummy felt ok and she didn't seem to be in any discomfort when she pressed on it. Then she checked her mouth and found a molar that was very loose. She said I can try and take her in the back and take her temp and see if I can get the molar out. She said the only concern was if one of the roots was still in solidly it could break off and she would need to have it removed under anesthesia. I told her to go ahead. She brought Roxie back along with a big molar, all 3 roots with it. She said it was infected and that she flushed out the area and she had a slight temperature. She put her on an antibiotic for 7 days. She said Roxie was so good she never made a peep or squirmed. Roxie came home and is doing much better. I am so glad I took her in and the vet did a thorough check and found the problem.
