I usually use a metal grooming comb on Gracie first. After she is all combed I use a pin brush to finish her off.

This website has some good examples of grooming combs and brushes. I use a 4.5 inch comb for her face and legs and a 6 inch comb for her body. I use the small Madan pin brush. I have heard a lot of people like the wooden pin brushes but I don't know how they would work for tangles.
Using a good all natural spray conditioner works well for helping to keep the coat tangle free between baths. I have found that a weekly bath helps with tangles also. The conditioner I use when I bathe her keeps the hair nice and smooth for at least a week. After that you tend to start loosing the effect of the rinse conditioner.
I don't know what kind of all natural products you have over there but I have found that staying away from regular sulfate shampoos and conditioners that dry the skin and coat really helps keep the hair more manageable. If you do a daily combing it should not take long at all since daily grooming helps keep the hair free of mats. Those fine hairs underneath do tend to twist up easily but a good spray conditioner used between baths will help keep them from matting.
