HI and welcome. Age shouldn't play a part in a successful transition to your family. When you meet the Yorkie, take note how he responds to you. Does he bark a lot, is he excited to see you, what's his current environment. Getting a chance to know the dog and whether he will fit your lifestyle is key. Once he comes home with you, he should adapt nicely to your home, but keep in mind, his personality will be pretty much the same.

We tried to rescue one Yorkie and we took him for 1 week as advised by the agency. Unfortunately as much as we tried, he wasn't a fit for us and we reluctantly returned him. When we found Bailey, the moment we saw him he was happy, jumping and excited to meet us. We knew right then he was perfect and he has been for over a year. He was 6 months old when we got him.

Good luck!
