I never heard of that infection before (probably because I have never let any of my females go in heat). That's scary!! My new vet said that it was beneficial to their health to actually go thru one heat. I'm having brain freeze now, too, though lol..I can't remember what he said was the benefit. I guess I lost that info in my head because I was like, "Too late now..she's spayed." I'm going to research some more on this. Thank you

It's great that you are doing the blood work first. Why does she have to be there so long? When I got Mandie spayed, I dropped her off at 7:30 am and picked her up the same day at 3:30pm. Just curious.
