JJ had his name when we got him at the spca but we kept it because it was perfect for us, my name is judi and my husbands is jeff so we kept it as jj. when we got jewell my husbands mother had just passed away 3 monts before and he said we could NOT name an animal after her but when i brought her home from the shelter he asked what the people called her there and i told him "you won't like it" they called her a little jewell. and he said " Jewell i told you we can't name her Jewell" and she went right over to him and rolled on her back for a belly rub. so she kept it, and his sister thinks she is just like their mom and that she'd approve too.
