My sheltie-mix is named Shelby-Dale. We can't have kids and he was my first ever male dog so I named him Shelby after my dad. He's black and white (mostly black) and my hubby was a HUGE fan of Dale Earnhardt (he drove a black car). So..Shelby-Dale.
Mandie really doesn't have any meaning (although friends tease me about the Barry Mannilow song lol). Her name was Sophie when we got her but hubby thought that was too ritzy for us regular folk...we bounced names around for about 4 or 5 days. He called me at work one day and said, "Candie or Mandie?" I tested calling each name like I was calling a dog...I liked Mandie better. (pretty meaningless but a pretty name I think
