update: they just called me back trying to "tell me about the great deals they could offer". I told them i was not interested in a 2 yr contract and after the aggresive manner and how i was treated the other day i more than likely not go with them when i was ready to. He apologized and said that was why he was calling. He started talking about deals again. I asked if it included a contract he said yes a 2 year one. I said nope not interested.

My DH gets frustrated with them too. They send out all kinds of flyers and "great" deals to lure people people to switch over to them. They really do offer some great introductory 2year contract deals that most of the time you won't find anywhere else, and they certainly don't offer those kinds of deals to their longstanding customers. It's really the same as a free or discounted phone with a 2 year contract. There has to be a committment from the customer to offer those prices. My Dh always thinks we should get the same deal since we've been with them so long. LOL, God love him.
The thing is, I have friends who switch from Direct TV to Dish Network and then back every two years to keep those introductory prices, and when they have free setups I guess you can do that.
