You are SO right! Bad breeders and bad petshops want you to be so emotionally tied so that you won't return it. Alot of petshops tell you that you can only return it and then it will be put down which is horrible. It causes the emotional strain you're talking about. Of course people wouldn't want the dog put down so they end up pouring hundreds of dollars into the vets the petshops usually give them the "first check" with and then the dog passes. So the pet shop "wins" because they still get their money. Or they do the exchange or give some money back but you can't tell anyone about the bad experience. I think you made the right decision and hopefully stopped other people from going through the same thing.
