Well, I just wanted to say that last January my husband and I rescued a Yorkie that had been hit by a car, and sadly she had also been badly abused. She was older, at the time we thought maybe even as old as around 8 or so due to her hard life. She's been with us now almost a year. January will be one year. Originally, she was just going to be fostered with me and a new home located. That didn't work out. She has turned out to be one of the best Yorkies we have ever had in our family. As if we've had her from a pup. They pay you back ten fold when they know you've rescued them. She has become my best friend, traveling in our car with us, walking, and sleeping with us etc. She listens probably better the any we've had, and shows such love and devotion. I can't say much more or reccomend any higher to adopt a little older Yorkie. We now believe Gianna is probably between 3 -5 years old. You would not know for a minute we did not have her as a pup and I would do it all over again, adopt an older Yorkie rather then a pup. Best of luck. Elaine |
[SIZE=3]Out of the 11 Yorkies that I have had in my life, 8 of those have been adopted. My adopted ones have always fit in so very well and have never, ever been a problem. It's like the minute they walked in the door it was as if they had been here always. The 3 I have now I adopted. One I have had right at 2yrs now, she is 8 yrs old, the other one I have had almost 2yrs, she is 4 yrs old and then my 3rd, I have had her for a little over 6 months now and she will be 5 yrs in January.
