I'm sorry, I feel confused reading your post. Are you asking if there is something wrong with your new pup because her hair is shorter? Generally speaking, no, she is only 8 weeks old, her hair "shouldn't" be too terribly long yet. Is she a soft coat whereas your previous pup was not? That can make a difference in how the hair lays and looks. It is also very possible that you just don't remember how long or short the hair on the previous pup was at 8 weeks old.
