The car ride wouldn't concern me - we take Rowdy for lots of loooong car rides (we travel a lot in the summer). We do occasionally stay in a hotel (mostly we stay in our 5th wheel), and when we are in the hotel, if we occasionally have to leave him - I only leave him for as short a time as possible and I worry constantly that someone (who works at the hotel with access) will come in and take him. I'm probably paranoid - but that's the way I feel.
