Tinkerbell was supposed to be my husband's dog because he doesn't like fu fu maltese (that's what he says, but guess who's always laying wrapped up in his arms on the couch when he's napping) So we got Tinkerbell for him, he would say he always wanted her in a scruffy puppy cut and didn't want the bows in her hair, rolled his eyes at my new carrier, how much did it cost?!? etc, etc... Then I started asking for another human baby (we have two boys, I'd love a girl!) Let's just say he doesn't mind me dressing my little furry girls up now! He doesn't want more kids. HaHA! I may get my way some day though!
Since i am Tinkerbell's caregiver during the day she is definately my girl now. I think Yorkies bring out the maternal instinct in us ladies because they are so much like children. It's just not the same for men. I've heard "she's just a dog" come from my husband's mouth many times. He doesn't think my little stories of what she did today are as exciting as I do. And I accept that.
So now I do whatever I want and don't even tell him what I buy anymore!
I'm not saying that my husband doesn't like Tinkerbell, I just think they have their own unique relationship. Hopefully your s/o will grow into a relationship with Bailey all his own as time goes on. Maybe with the crate training not going so well and the potty training chore, could be that it's overshadowing the good qualities of the little guy. He won't be able to resist that cute little face for long, I'm sure!
