Thanks to everyone for all of the information. I'm so glad to hear that she will be able to have treats again.
I'll definitely start feeding her on a plate. I noticed that she ends up with alot of food on her face now when eating from a bowl. It doesn't seem to bother her at all, but when she's done she then "wipes" her face all over the rug. Yuk! And she really hates getting her face washed, even when I manage to catch her in time. So hopefully putting a thin layer of food on a plate in a Christmas tree shape will cut down on clean-up.
She was holding her tongue in at first, but now has relaxed into this cute little expression, see attached photo.
Next vet visit is going to be to the ophthalmologist. An earlier exam at the shelter diagnosed her with dry eye, but I didn't get any meds for her from the shelter. I've been giving her saline drops as a temporary fix, but I'm sure there are things that are more effective. |
