Ever since I have been trying to find something BESIDES elastic that will stay in her silky slick hair with no success. I have tried velcro and tiny barrets, super light-weight bows, super tiny boys, and once I even stuck a piece of double sided tape on her head with a piece of ribbon stuck to it. That stayed for a bit, but it wasn't exactly useful OR attractive!

The problem is two-fold. She has super thin, shiny, slick hair on her head AND she paws and/or rubs at anything I put in it until she gets it off. Her hair is FINALLY getting long enough to where she could use one now, though.

Before I give in and go back to the rubber/elastic/stretchy/whatever they are bows, I think I will give the snapon bows that were recommended a try. Thank you for starting this thread!
I think there is a link to Bow Biz at the start of this thread. You can buy bows with the alligator clips on them there. Once you put your dog's hair in a topknot with a grooming band you can then clip a bow over top of the band and it will stay much better. The hair is too slippery to get a bow to stay without using just a single lone grooming band to hold the hair in place first. If you go to the Bow Biz site there are pictures and a video that explains how to put in a bow properly. Never leave a puppy or dog alone with a bow of any kind though. They can be a choking hazard.
The snap in bows will stay pretty well without a real topknot in place.
