Did you try the treat thing?
I will say this, my big dog hates hates hates getting his nails clipped. It freaks him out. I tried the electric (dremmel like) file and that was worse. So, for over 3 years now, my hubby has to get a wrestle hold on this 68 lb dog while I clip away. I gave him treats til the cows came home but he didn't care. He hates his nails to be messed with. So, he just has to suffer for 10 minutes while it's done.
Mandie doesn't even like me touching her paws to brush/comb them. Same with clipping but at least she's sub-5 lbs so I can handle her lol
