9:48PM | Tuesday Night
Whoever figured out the boiled hamburger meal needs to come see me next time you're in Kentucky and I'll buy you a meal of your own. Man oh man! Sometime in between the second and third helpings of hamburger, Bimmer FINALLY went poo. Pardon the following description, but the first part he struggled to get out and was dark greenish in color. This was followed by quite a bit of the normal pinkish firm stool. With all the different foods he's eaten over the last week, I don't know what to make of that but I know he looks like he's feeling better and that makes me feel better.
He still does the "Stevie Wonder" occasionally, which has me concerned. Nonetheless, this is the first night in many a roller coaster night that I can go to bed tonight knowing Bimmer isn't starving himself. He ate quite a bit of hamburger in the last two hours. I know it isn't the most nutritous meal, but at this point I just need the little man to fill his belly. You will all be proud to know that I made a trip to Kroger's to pick up some Gerber carrot puree and have fed him that via a syringe to supplement the meat-only diet of tonight.
How am I doing? Do I have all the bases covered? I'm seriously considering pulling his antibiotic until I talk to the vet. I've seen no improvement in him on the antibiotics. His eyes were no longer gooey when he went on the eye meds. His head shaking hasn't stopped since he went on the ear meds. Finally, his appetite went into the tank when he went back on the Clavamox. I'm also suspending the vitamin supplements until I speak with the vet. Bimmer hasn't just "been a dog" for two weeks now. I'm curious to see how he responds to having four less syringes in his mouth countless times a day. Maybe this is reckless, but I don't think things can get worse in a 12 hour period.
Speak up ladies... I need some affirmation here. What am I forgetting? |
