All she's doing is 'finding her feet'....
She's exploring because she can, and because she's allowed to....she took herself to bed because she can and maybe she was sleepy and knew you'd come to find her....
She feels secure.
Every pup I've ever had has gone through that stage (a bit like skin babies) where they're testing the water. PLEASE don't be sad, it IS just growing up - she will 'come back' to you
