By buying from a petstore yes, you are supporting the puppy mills, but also...these animals are innocent. They have no control over being born to a breeder or being born to a puppy mill or pet store. I feel that they need a loving home just as much as the others do. If petstores were made illegal, that would end the never ending battle I have within myself. I do feel that pet stores support puppy mills and that is very wrong, however, I also feel that the animal needs love and warmth no matter how they were brought into the world.

If the puppy's don't sell they will go to rescues more then likely or the price will have to be dropped so low that the pet store loses money. If the pet store loses enough money they stop doing it or shut down. The puppy's always get a home.
