Our little boy, Bryer, broke his front leg at 5 months old. The fracture was at the "elbow" high on the leg near the shoulder. It was necessary to attach a tiny titanium plate with screws and pins. Keeping him crated for 6 weeks after surgery was one of the toughest parts of the ordeal from my perspectiive. He did not have a cast on his after surgery, it was wrapped with gauze and tape so we had to make sure No running, jumping, climbing, etc etc.
The broken leg ordeal was 1 1/2 years ago. The encouraging news for you is that today he is the most active and energetic among our 4 Yorkie furr babies. A complete recovery was realized.... it just took lots of time and $$$ money......
Best of luck to you and Lollipop |
