I am SO glad they did not find anything dreadful!!

As for a companion...he may or may not adjust. Something you need to think about long and hard as he has always been an only pup. Not saying it would not work, but I would definitely suggest a rescue...and one that thoroughly evaluates their pups and their temperaments...and one that carefully screens you and also does a home visit. A reputable rescue will work with you to find the right fit. You can start out by looking on Petfinder.com ... if you need any help checking things out, feel free to PM me. I would not suggest a puppy...they are often a pain to older pups....they are very playful and full of energy and can annoy them.
