Oh bless you for taking her in. How horrible their lives must have been. Now she's in a safe place but it will take her time to adjust. I work with rescue horses and many come from equally horrible situations and they too have trust issues like your little one. Just give her time and let her adjust on her own. Don't force her but let her know you are someone she can trust. I don't know about her coat growing. Perhaps because of her poor diet and unsanitary conditions her coat might take a bit longer than usual to grow out but I'm sure she'll be beautiful anyway. Please keep us posted on her progress. Does she have a name?
