I would take him to another vet that will do some tests on your dog. He has a problem and i don't think it is "drama.' Sadly, dogs cannot tell us exactly what is bothering them and it takes some investigation to pinpoint some issues. I have a very hard time with vets that guess at the problem and send a pet home with a medication when they are unsure of what the actual issue is.
