No,I dont add calcium because they get their kibble too,so its all very balanced. If they ONLY had human food as their meals, then I would have to add certain vitamins to make up for what they are missing out on.I have always given my girls human food.As puppys I didnt give it to them as meals,it was more like a treat.BUt after they were about 10 weeks old I started to cook meals for them a couple of times a week.
It was mainly rice and chicken at first, but my vet gave me a list of foods that I could cook for them and I started making other things too, like boiled fish with rice and veggies etc.I have to admit that they have also had the odd plate of spaggeti bolonaise (sp?) and even pizza! lol.But this is deffinately just a treat and doesnt happen often.
If your yorkie gets one human food meal a day but has kibble down 24/7 and eats that too,you shouldent have to add anything to the food.Too much calcium isnt good for them either,my vet said that it can cause blindness if it reaches high levels in their blood so I would deffinately ask your vet before you give your yorkie calcium as a supliment.
