Little Abby went to the vet yesterday. The vet said that the lump was "lady parts" that have gotten loose from being bred constantly. But he also found a hard lump on one of her mammary glands. She's going in on Wed morning to get her teeth cleaned and a needle biopsy on the lump. They'll also clean her ears and give her a good going over while she's sedated.
The vet was the one who originally saw Abby when she was surrendered to the shelter back in September. He said she was "naked as a mole rat" and was really under weight. He wasn't sure she was even going to survive, so that's why they didn't do a dental then. But her adopters obviously did a good job of fattening her up and getting her coat to grow back in. So once she gets her teeth and ears clean she's going to be looking AND feeling much better! |
