Most vets aren’t breed specialists, so they may not be aware of the problems Yorkies have. I think some commercially made treats are fine for most dogs if given in moderation, but many breeders state that the Yorkie's digestive system is its weakest link. It would be wise to heed this information. One attack of acute pancreatitis from too much fat, can lead to chronic pancreatitis and then you have to be careful of any food the dog has. Once the Yorkies digestive system is broken, it’s very difficult to repair!
